Under the umbrella of the celebration of European Cooperation Day, the Joint Operational Program Romania – Ukraine 2014-2020 carried out, on October 1, 2020, an action of free distribution of promotional packages, including protective masks for the citizens of Suceava, Tulcea, Botosani, Satu -Mare and Baia Mare.
The representatives of the programme were present in the bus stations, on the routes where the means of transport circulate that carry the message of the campaign occasioned by the European Cooperation Day 2020, “Safely, together!”. 1000 masks were distributed to emphasize the importance of civic responsibility in public transport. In addition to protective masks, travelers found in the promotional packages also information about cross-border projects funded by the Romania-Ukraine Program, about their benefits for local communities.
Between September 21 and October 20, 2020, residents of counties on the border with Ukraine are invited to a “safe” trip through Tulcea, Botosani, Suceava, Baia Mare or Satu Mare, with buses customized for European Cooperation Day. At the same time, Cooperation Day is also present in the online environment, through a campaign to promote cross-border collaboration and partnerships that generate results and solutions to common problems of the two partner countries.
This year, European Cooperation Day took place on three levels: cooperation, digitization and security.
The beneficiaries of the Romania-Ukraine Program also marked the Cooperation Day through various, attractive events and activities, carried out both in Romania and in Ukraine. 2020 is an important milestone in the history of European Union-funded cooperation programs, as partners from all states participating in these programs celebrate 30 years of #INTERREG cooperation.
