Projects without borders. Romania - Ukraine | European Co-operation Day 2021

Do you know what the Joint Operational Programme Romania - Ukraine does for your region? 21 September 2021 marks European Cooperation Day and 10 years of international celebrations. This year, the Day of European Co-operation will be celebrated in 9 regional events under the name of „Projects without borders - Romania | Ukraine”, one in each county of the Programme area. The meetings will bring together journalists and beneficiaries of the Programme in a ”Regional Brunch” to get to know directly the cooperation projects in each area and the involvement of the Romania - Ukraine Programme in the lives of people living in border communities. The aim of the regional meetings is to show the impact of Romania-Ukraine cross-border co-operation on citizens and border areas, as well as to promote co-operation projects as useful tools to address real problems in each region. A retrospective of the work carried out for the common benefit by authorities, institutions and individuals, regions and countries, as well as of the partnerships built within and beyond the borders of the European Union will be presented. What it means Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine?
  • 60,000,000 EUR
  • 62 of projects funded
  • 86 public organisations and institutions from Ukraine
  • 94 public organisations and institutions in Romania
  • 650 kilometres border
  • Plague 8 million of inhabitants
The Romania-Ukraine programme aims to create partnerships between entities on either side of the border, bringing benefits to the border communities. The areas funded are: education, research, shared cultural heritage, transport, health, emergency situations and the prevention and fight against organised crime. Our initiative this year - „Projects without borders. Romania | Ukraine” - aims to bring to the attention of the media and the general public external border co-operation which, with the financial support of the European Union, can improve the lives of people and communities in the border area. The local coordinator of the Romania-Ukraine Programme actions, under the umbrella of the European Cooperation Day, is the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme, together with the Antenna Offices in Chernivtsi and Odessa. To this end, we aim to run a series of media events in all programme regions and an information campaign on radio and online. In a friendly, informal and relaxed format, the regional actions will be an excellent opportunity to hear the ”voice” of our projects on local, regional and European media channels, communicating about their journey and results, their perspective on the work and experience gained in the context of cross-border cooperation under each of the priorities funded by the Romania-Ukraine Joint Operational Programme. Given that the projects funded by the Romania-Ukraine Joint Operational Programme 2014-2020 are the „human face” of the Programme, the involvement of beneficiaries in local actions linked to the European Cooperation Day is a key element in promoting cross-border cooperation to the general public. Priorities financed by the RO-UA Programme: Priority 1.1 - Institutional co-operation in the field of education with the aim of increasing access to and quality of education Priority 1.2 - Promoting and supporting research and innovation Priority 2.1 - Preservation and promotion of cultural and historical heritage Priority 3.1 - Development of cross-border transport infrastructure and ICT tools Priority 4.1 - Support and develop health services and access to health Priority 4.2 - Support for partnership activities to prevent natural and man-made disasters and partnership actions for emergency situations Priority 4.3 - Prevention of and fight against organised crime and police cooperation.
