
Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania-Ucraina 2021-2027
Introduction and context
The Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine Programme continues the cross-border cooperation between the two countries, being financed through the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI-CBC). The programme is designed to support the resilience of border regions and to accelerate sustainable development in the context of new European challenges.
The total financial allocation for the Interreg NEXT VI-A Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 programme is 60.8 million euros.
Programme Area:
- Romania: Satu Mare, Maramureș, Botoșani, Suceava, and Tulcea Counties.
- Ukraine: Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpatska, Chernivtsi, and Odesa Oblasts.
Priorities
- Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking into account eco-system based approaches;
- Enhancing protection and preservation of nature biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution.

- Improving equal access to inclusive and quality services in education, training and lifelong learning through developing accessible infrastructure, including by fostering resilience for distance and on-line education and training;
- Ensuring equal access to health care and fostering resilience of health systems, including primary care, and promoting the transition from institutional to familybased and community- based care.
