COMPETITION for MURAL ART „Message for Ukraine” - open entries

You are young, art-loving in all its forms, you want to convey a message of support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people? Enter the European Cooperation Day competition! Romania-Ukraine Joint Operational Programme launches a competition of paintings and digital creations entitled „Message for Ukraine”, open to all young people from Romania and Ukraine, aged aged between 14 - 30, who want to share their creative ideas and translate solidarity into artistic language. The competition aims to identify original, expressive artistic works illustrating empathy with the Ukrainian people, help without borders and hope for the future #standwithukraine The winning entry will be transposed on one of the buildings of public interest in Romaniaa contemporary mural by street art and will become the flagship of our Programme this year. Registration runs from 18 July - 9 August 2022, and 6 of the entries will be shortlisted to compete for the final public vote. Participants can apply by filling in the application form on the Programme website www.ro-ua.net (in Romanian or Ukrainian) and uploading a photo of the entry according to the competition rules. Young people between 14 - 18 years of age will be able to participate only with the written consent of a parent/legal guardian. Finalists will receive prizes consisting of modern gadgets: 5 x smartwatches and grand prize - an electric scooter. The author of the winning artwork will be able to participate in the execution of the mural, and we, the organisers, will make sure that his message will reach the Romanian-Ukrainian cross-border community, as well as the European one. Every year in September, the Managing Authority (Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration) and the Joint Technical Secretariat (Suceava Regional Office for Cross-border Cooperation) for the Romania-Ukraine Joint Operational Programme mark the European Co-operation Day to promote the benefits of cooperation and the impact of cross-border projects in border areas, together with the wider community of EU-funded Interreg programmes. This year, the Romania - Ukraine Joint Operational Programme will celebrate European Co-operation Day via event-manifest dedicated to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, aiming to convey a message of solidarity in a unique format by contemporary mural art. Under the indemnity #standwithukraine and by involving young people from Romania and Ukraine #youth4coop, „Message for Ukraine” event-demonstration dedicated to the European Co-operation Day aims to bring to the forefront the support for Ukraine shown by the cross-border cooperation community and the importance of young people in the context of the European Year of Youth - 2022.
