BRCT Suceava partner in celebrating the Ukrainian Language Day!

The Regional Office for Cross-Border Cooperation joined the celebration of the Ukrainian Language Day as a partner and was represented by our colleague Bogdan TANASĂ - Head of the Planning, Programming and Project Development Department, at the event organised in Bucharest by the Union of Ukrainians in Romania. On 9 November 2022, the ”Day of the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian writing!„ will be celebrated, on which occasion the Union of Ukrainians in Romania organised a nationwide event under the aegis ”9 November - Ukrainian Language Day in Romania". The large-scale event, which was attended by participants from 7 countries, was a good opportunity to identify the support actions realised by Romania during the refugee crisis in Ukraine. In the framework of the actions organised in Bucharest, our colleague held discussions to identify the needs for cooperation between different actors of the communities in the cross-border area, representing institutions and NGOs from Satu Mare, Transcarpathia, Maramureș, Ivano-Frankivsk, Botoșani, Suceava, Chernăuți. The event was attended by representatives of the Romanian Government, the Romanian Parliament, the Supreme Rada of Ukraine, the local public administration of Romania, the State Administrations of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the academic environment from Romania and Ukraine and many Ukrainian refugees. Discussion panels included topics such as mother tongue and mother tongue education, representation of the Ukrainian community at local and national level, and community organisation and solidarity in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine. We send our congratulations to the Union of Ukrainians in Romania and its branches in the territory and we wish you a happy birthday on the occasion of the Ukrainian Language Day!
