On Thursday, 27 April, the first event in the series of information sessions and regional launch took place at Hotel Delta in Tulcea, and presented the characteristics of the new funding programme for the 2021- 2027 programming period, lessons learned and the importance of partnership in a cross-border context.
The event addressed interested institutions and organisations from Tulcea County:
- local and regional public authorities
- public institutions with responsibilities in the fields of intervention of the programme (environment and climate change, health, education, cultural and natural heritage, border security)
- non-governmental organisations (managing risk prevention and disaster resilience activities; health, education; cultural and natural heritage protection, etc.)
- universities, research institutions, schools, other educational institutions
- administrations of protected areas
- hospitals, clinics, other health care centres
- museums, cultural, sports, tourism, etc. associations
- local business associations in the field of traditional and craft activities
- customs services, border police, police, gendarmerie, other national/regional/local public institutions working in the field of crime prevention, professional associations
The European Union's grant funding through the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine Programme is EUR 54 million, to which the national contribution will be added, and the areas funded are health, education, tourism and culture, climate change adaptation and emergency response, and border crossing management.
