BRCT Suceava at the Regional Economic Forum Moldova 2024

On 4-6 July 2024, the Regional Office for Cross-Border Cooperation Suceava participated as a partner in the Regional Economic Forum Moldova, held at the Casino Băilor in Vatra Dornei. The event, organised under the aegis of „Planning and Cooperation on the strategic objective: Moldova 2030”, brought together over 300 participants from Romania, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Poland.

Contribution of BRCT Suceava

BRCT Suceava had a significant presence at the event, sharing information about Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 funding opportunities and prospects for the development of border regions. Good practices and results of ENI CBC 2014-2020 cross-border projects were also presented.

Panel discussions and interventions

1.Investment panel

    • Cezar Grozavu, Executive Director of BRCT Suceava, spoke about the importance of cross-border investments and highlighted the achievements of the projects realised in this field. He was joined by:

2. Health panel

  • Ingrid Bucșa, Head of Interreg NEXT Secretariat Romania-Ukraine, presented good practicesi of the ENI CBC 2014-2020 programme and highlighted the results achieved in the health sector, underlining the importance of cross-border collaboration to improve health services. 

 

3. Tourism panel

  • Doina Turcu, Monitoring Expert at the Joint Secretariat, underlined the achievements of cross-border projects in the tourism sector, highlighting their role in promoting the cultural and historical heritage of the border regions.

Ukrainian delegation

The Ukrainian delegation, organised with the support of BRCT Suceava, included more than 40 representatives from the private sector and public administration from various regions of Ukraine neighbouring Romania. The Ukrainian representatives underlined the importance of strengthening cross-border cooperation to support joint economic and social development projects between neighbouring regions.

Importance of the event

The Regional Economic Forum Moldova 2024 was a landmark international event dedicated to regional development. The event brought together business leaders, experts, decision-makers from local, regional and European level, as well as international diplomatic representatives. Discussions centred on the specific economic challenges and opportunities in South-East Europe, highlighting the economic advantages and opportunities of the Moldova Region (North-East Romania and the Republic of Moldova).

The participation of BRCT Suceava in this forum highlighted the cross-border dimension and the European vision of the #INTERREG Neighbourhood Programmes, financed by European funds at the external borders. BRCT Suceava promoted cross-border co-operation and presented successful #ENICBC projects contributing to the development and prosperity of the region, highlighting the strong partnerships between Romanian and Ukrainian entities. The event demonstrated the importance of regional collaboration for sustainable development and created a framework for dialogue and exchange of best practices between all parties involved.
